🐾 Animal Control Officer
The North Canaan Animal Control Officer is responsible for protecting the safety and well-being of residents and animals within the community. The ACO enforces local and state animal control laws, responds to animal-related concerns, and promotes responsible pet ownership.
Services include:
- Responding to stray, lost, or found animals
- Investigating animal bites and nuisance complaints
- Enforcing dog licensing and vaccination requirements
- Addressing cruelty or neglect concerns
- Assisting with wildlife concerns when appropriate
Residents are encouraged to contact the Animal Control Officer with any animal-related issues or questions. Working together, we help ensure a safe and humane environment for both people and pets in North Canaan.
