Town Clerk's Office

The Town Clerk’s Office helps residents access important public records and town services. This includes recording land documents, issuing marriage licenses, dog licenses, fishing & hunting permits, providing certified copies of vital records (birth, death, marriage), and keeping the official archive of Town decisions and filings. The office also supports local elections and works to make voting and public participation secure and transparent.

We are committed to maintaining North Canaan’s historical records and making town government accessible to everyone.

Monday - 8:30AM-3:30PM
Tuesday - 8:30AM-3:30PM
Wednesday - 8:30AM-3:30PM
Thursday - 8:30AM-3:30PM
Friday - CLOSED
Open for Lunch

Note- Land records may be dropped off on Mondays and processed next day until further training and notice.

Note- Full processing of land records may not be completed after 3PM until the next business day.
