Applying for an Absentee Ballot

Connecticut Public Act 26-42, signed into law in May 2026, allows all qualified electors in Connecticut to vote by absentee ballot.

Before an absentee ballot can be issued, an Absentee Ballot Application must be completed and returned to the Town Clerk's Office. Applications may be obtained in person, by mail, or through the Connecticut Online Absentee Ballot Request Portal.

Printed applications must be signed by the voter and either mailed or hand-delivered to the Town Clerk's Office. Electronic signatures are not accepted on printed applications.
