👷 CONTRACTOR INFORMATION


All contractors performing work in the Town of North Canaan must comply with Connecticut licensing and insurance requirements.

Required Documentation


Contractors must provide:

  • Valid Connecticut State license (if applicable)

  • Certificate of insurance

  • Workers’ Compensation certificate

  • Home Improvement Contractor registration number (if required)


Owner-builders must comply with all applicable regulations and may be required to submit additional documentation.

Responsibility


It is the contractor’s responsibility to:

  • Obtain required permits before beginning work

  • Schedule required inspections

  • Ensure compliance with approved plans

  • Adhere to state and local building codes


Failure to comply may result in stop-work orders or fines.
