Inspections are required to ensure work complies with approved plans and the Connecticut State Building Code.
Scheduling an Inspection
- Inspections must be scheduled through OpenGov.
- Same-day inspections are not guaranteed.
Common Inspection Stages
Depending on your project, inspections may include:
- Footing/Foundation
- Framing
- Rough Electrical
- Rough Plumbing
- Rough Mechanical
- Insulation
- Final Inspection
Work must not proceed beyond required inspection stages without approval.
Before Your Inspection
Please ensure:
- The permit is posted and visible.
- The approved plans are on-site.
- The work area is accessible.
- Utilities are connected if required.
Missed or failed inspections may result in reinspection fees.
