Planning & Zoning Commission

The Planning and Zoning Commission helps guide the growth and development of North Canaan in a way that supports the community’s character, safety, and long-term goals. The Commission is responsible for reviewing land use applications, subdivisions, site plans, zoning regulations, and other development proposals to ensure they comply with local regulations and state laws.

Through thoughtful planning and public input, the Commission works to balance responsible development with preservation of the town’s natural resources, neighborhoods, and economic vitality.

Meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend and participate in the planning process.
